Former North Fort Myers Red Knight Tre Boston is off to a good start as a defensive back at North Carolina. As a freshman last fall, he immediately made an impact, playing in 10 of the Tar Heels' 13 games, including the Music City Bowl.

On the season, Boston had 32 tackles, including 9 in a 44-10 win over Virginia in October. He picked off a pass and forced two fumbles in the season opener, a 30-24 loss to LSU.

At North, Boston played as a defensive back and wide receiver.

North Carolina's 2011 season starts Sept. 3 at home against James Madison.
